Stage 2 of the AMUSF training program is designed to help students advance their skills in upholstery. This course is a crucial part of obtaining a professional upholstery diploma, offering hands-on experience that enhances learning. Participants will engage in various upholstery courses that focus on practical techniques and design principles.

Stage 3 course is an essential part of AMUSF training, offering advanced skills for those pursuing a professional upholstery diploma. These upholstery courses are designed to elevate your craftsmanship and prepare you for a successful career in upholstery.
During your time at the upholstery academy, you will participate in a diverse range of assessments aimed at enhancing both your professional and creative skills. You will gain hands-on experience in a fully operational upholstery workshop, familiarizing yourself with the tools and equipment vital to the trade.
To apply for the AMUSF training program, you must complete the designated application form and attend an interview day at our Yeovil workshop.

The Assessments
A substantial traditional armchair should include at least two of the following elements: the fitting of caps and collars, scroll arms or stitched-up edges to arms, sprung arms, coil sprung seats, independent sprung edges, deep buttoning, fluting, or an iron-framed chair. Additionally, a modern chair with a concave inside back that incorporates tailored fitting and/or top stitching, such as the Egg style (shell frame), will be assessed.
As part of the AMUSF training, a written project titled 'History of Upholstered Furniture' is required, along with a portfolio showcasing your work in the field of upholstery.
